This guide details the installation of the Mighty-BOND Split Grounding/Bonding Bushing, a UL Listed component designed for use with threaded Rigid or Intermediate Metal Conduit and fittings, uniquely allowing installation after conductors are pulled.

Grounding or bonding conductor
- Position the Bushing
Open the Mighty-Bond™ split bushing and place it around the conductors, positioning it onto the top of the RMC, IMC, or fitting threaded end.
- Close and Align the Bushing
Close the Mighty-Bond™ bushing and align it to access the set screw, grounding lug, and hinge screw. Ensure the set screw is backed out sufficiently for the two halves to close fully on the threaded conduit or fitting, and that the bushing is as far down on the conduit or fitting threads as possible.
- Secure the Bushing
Tighten the hinge screw first, then the set screw. If applicable, tighten the enclosure bonding screw. Tighten all screws to UL Torque requirements (35 in lb).
- Connect the Grounding Conductor
Insert the appropriate sized grounding or bonding conductor into the lug. Refer to the provided table for the UL Recommended lug screw torque based on the wire range (e.g., 10-14 AWG/MCM Copper/10-12 AWG Aluminum: 35 in lbs; 8 AWG Copper/Aluminum: 40 in lbs; 4-6 AWG Copper/Aluminum: 45 in lbs; 2/0-3 AWG Copper/Aluminum: 50 in lbs) and tighten the screw accordingly.
