How to Install the Mighty-BOND™ Split Grounding/Bonding Bushing
This guide provides instructions for installing the Mighty-BOND™ Split Grounding/Bonding Bushing, designed for use with threaded Rigid or Intermediate Metal Conduit and fittings, even after conductors have already been pulled through the raceway.

Supplies needed:
Grounding or bonding conductor
- Position the Bushing
Open the Mighty-Bond™ split bushing and place it around the conductors, seating it onto the top of the threaded end of the RMC, IMC, or fitting.
- Close and Align the Bushing
Close the Mighty-Bond™ bushing, ensuring the set screw is sufficiently backed out to allow the two halves to close fully on the threaded conduit or fitting. Align the bushing to access the set screw, grounding lug, and hinge screw, making sure it is as far down on the conduit or fitting threads as possible.
- Secure the Bushing
First, tighten the hinge screw, then the set screw. If applicable, tighten the enclosure bonding screw. Tighten all these screws to UL Torque requirements of 35 in lb.
- Connect the Grounding Conductor
Insert the appropriate sized grounding or bonding conductor into the lug. Refer to the provided table for UL Recommended lug screw torque based on the wire range (e.g., 35 in lbs for 10-14 AWG Copper, 50 in lbs for 2/0-3 AWG Copper/Aluminum) and tighten the screw accordingly.
