How to Install the Mighty-BOND Split Grounding/Bonding Bushing
Install the UL Listed Mighty-BOND Split Grounding/Bonding Bushing onto threaded Rigid or Intermediate Metal Conduit (RMC/IMC) or fittings, even after conductors have been pulled. This guide ensures a code-compliant grounding and bonding connection.

Grounding or bonding conductor
- Position the Bushing
Open the Mighty-Bond split bushing and place it around the conductors, positioning it onto the top of the threaded end of the RMC, IMC, or fitting.
- Close and Align the Bushing
Close the Mighty-Bond bushing halves. Ensure the set screw is backed out sufficiently to allow the two halves to close fully on the threaded conduit or fitting. Align the bushing to access the set screw, grounding lug, and hinge screw. Make sure the bushing is seated as far down on the conduit or fitting threads as possible.
- Secure the Bushing
Tighten the hinge screw first, then the set screw. If applicable, tighten the enclosure bonding screw. Tighten all screws to UL Torque requirements of 35 in-lb.
- Connect the Grounding Conductor
Insert the appropriate sized grounding or bonding conductor into the lug. Tighten the lug screw according to the UL Recommended torque table provided in the product documentation (e.g., 35 in-lb for 10-14 AWG copper, 50 in-lb for 2/0-3 AWG copper).
