How to Install the Mersen US3J1 Fuse Holder
Step-by-step guide for installing the Mersen US3J1 UltraSafe™ Class J Fuse Holder onto a DIN rail.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Phillips/slot head screwdriver, 35 mm DIN rail
Supplies needed:
Mersen US3J1 Fuse Holder, Appropriate Class J fuse
- Prepare the DIN Rail
Ensure a clean and properly installed 35 mm DIN rail is available at the mounting location.
- Mount the Fuse Holder
Align the snap-mounting mechanism on the back of the US3J1 fuse holder with the 35 mm DIN rail. Press firmly until the holder snaps securely into place.
- Connect Wiring
Open the pressure plate terminal covers. Insert the appropriately sized (2 to #14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire into the terminal. Tighten the terminal screw using a Phillips or slot head screwdriver to the recommended torque (35 in-lbs for 30A models).
- Insert Fuse
Ensure the fuse holder is in the open position. Insert the correct Class J fuse (e.g., AJT, A4J, HSJ) into the designated slot. Close the fuse holder cover until it latches securely.
- Verify Installation
Confirm that the fuse holder is securely mounted to the DIN rail and that all electrical connections are tight. Check that the fuse is correctly seated and the cover is closed.
