Overview

The Mersen Protistor® A300656 is a Size 70 aR square body high-speed fuse-link designed for ultimate semiconductor protection. Engineered for modern power conversion equipment, this fuse offers maximum flexibility in equipment design. It provides state-of-the-art protection for sensitive semiconductor devices such as diodes, thyristors, GTO's, and IGBTs. The fuse-link features pure silver, die-cut elements embedded in solidified sand to control arcing characteristics, resulting in a lower I²t and a high interrupting rating level. With a rated voltage of 1250VAC (IEC) and 1300VAC (UL), and a rated current of 160A, this fuse is built for demanding applications. Its construction includes silver-plated contact surfaces and non-magnetic hardware. The Protistor® A300656 is equipped with slotted blades for mounting and can be fitted with a low voltage trip-indicator to operate a field-mountable microswitch. Key specifications include a pre-arcing I²t of 2570 A²s and a clearing I²t at rated voltage of 21000 A²s, with a rated breaking capacity of 126 kA. The power dissipation at In is 45 W. Manufactured in the US, this fuse ensures reliable and safe operation in critical power systems.
