The enclosure ensures IP66/IP69 degree of protection (or IP65 for hinged cover versions) when mated and locked with closing levers. The cover alone provides only mechanical protection, not IP65 protection.

The CHI-32CS can be used with bulkhead mounting housings, with options for mounting using 2 levers or 4 pegs. Panel cut-out dimensions are provided for different mounting configurations.

The CHI-32CS can be combined with CHO/CHV/CFO/CFV 32 X and MHO/MHV/MFO/MFV 32 X enclosures.
