- Connect Wires to Terminals
Back out the terminal screws on the receptacle far enough to allow conductors to pass. Insert the conductors fully into the proper terminals. Tighten the terminal screws with the appropriate tool to the torque indicated in Table 5. Do not overtighten.
- Assemble Receptacle (Cord Mounted)
Verify the cable jacket extends into the handle. Assemble the receptacle, color-coded gasket, finger drawplate (if needed), and thin black drawplate gasket to the handle with the provided screws. Adjust cable location to prevent tension inside the handle and tighten the compression nut.
- Assemble Receptacle (Mounted)
Assemble the receptacle and color-coded gasket to the angle and box using appropriate hardware. For custom mounting, ensure clearance and mounting holes match Table 6 dimensions. Use watertight seals under mounting screw heads and retain with a lock washer and nut, or thread blind holes.
- Final Checks and Power On
Ensure the receptacle is mounted with the latch at the top and force from the cable is exerted downward. Once assembly is complete, the power source can be turned on. Periodically check mounting screws, strain relief, gaskets, and contact surfaces for maintenance.
