How to Install the DXA Decontactor
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the installation and initial setup of the DXA Decontactor in industrial applications.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Color-coded gaskets
- Mount the receptacle
Install the receptacle at a downward angle with the latching pawls at the top and bottom. Ensure it is securely fastened to the panel or enclosure.
- Prepare the conductors
Remove the outer sheath of the cable to the appropriate length and strip the insulation from the conductors as specified in Table T2. Ensure the cable sheathing extends through the cord grip.
- Connect the conductors
Insert the stripped conductors fully into the terminal blocks without backing out the terminal screws completely. Tighten the screws to the specified torque in Table T2.
- Establish grounding connections
Connect all metal parts to ground using the provided ground terminals. Ensure that one terminal is factory-wired to the ground contact and is not removed.
- Insert color-coded gaskets
Place the color-coded gaskets between the device and its rear accessory to maintain the IP rating. Position the protrusions on the latch sides.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to check the continuity of the ground circuit and ensure all connections are secure and properly tightened.
- Test the device
Power on the system and test the functionality of the DXA Decontactor by connecting and disconnecting the plug to ensure proper operation.
