- Ensure Power is Off
Before beginning installation, disconnect all sources of power to the circuit to eliminate the risk of electrical shock.
- Mount the Receptacle
Secure the receptacle to the wall box or panel using the provided mounting screws. Ensure that the pawl latch is oriented at the top for optimal operation.
- Prepare the Wires
Strip the individual wires according to the lengths specified in Table 2 of the documentation. Twist the strands of each conductor together to ensure a secure connection.
- Connect the Wires
Back out the terminal screws on the receptacle far enough to allow the conductors to pass. Insert the conductors fully into their respective terminals and tighten the screws to the torque specified in Table 3.
- Assemble the Plug
Insert the cable through the plug body and strip the cable sheath as required. Connect the wires inside the plug following the same procedure as for the receptacle.
- Verify Connections
Use a multimeter to verify that all connections are secure and that there are no short circuits before restoring power.
- Test the Installation
Once power is restored, test the plug and receptacle connection to ensure proper operation. Ensure that the plug latch is secured behind the catch on the receptacle.
