Overview

The Macromatic PMDU Three Phase Monitor Relay is a microprocessor-based DIN-rail mounted device engineered for industrial-grade phase monitoring and protection in three-phase power systems. Designed to operate within a universal voltage range of 208-480V (50/60Hz), the PMDU provides robust detection and protection against critical power anomalies including phase loss, phase reversal, phase unbalance, undervoltage, and overvoltage. This relay ensures reliable operation in manufacturing, HVAC, process control, and other industrial applications without requiring a neutral connection, making it compatible with both Wye and Delta systems. Key specifications include a 10A DPDT contact configuration with SPDT and SPNC outputs rated at 10A @ 240V AC/30V DC and 1/2HP @ 240V AC. The device features adjustable phase unbalance detection from 2-10% with a disable setting to prevent nuisance tripping, adjustable undervoltage drop-out from 80-95% of nominal voltage with a 0.1-20 second time delay, and a fixed overvoltage trip at 110% of nominal voltage. Response times include a 100ms fixed drop-out for phase loss/reversal, 2 seconds for phase unbalance, and an adjustable 1-300 second power-up/restart delay. The PMDU includes a multi-color LED status indicator for clear fault diagnosis, with green steady for normal operation, red for unbalance/undervoltage, amber for reversal/overvoltage, and flashing patterns for power-up/restart delays and trip pending conditions. Automatic reset is standard, with optional manual reset via a momentary N.C. switch. The compact 45mm DIN-style surface-mount case simplifies panel integration, and the relay is UL/cULus listed with compliance to EN60947-1 and EN60947-5-1 standards. Separate 120V and 575V versions are available for broader application coverage.

The 201A-AU is a 3-phase, auto-ranging, dual-range voltage monitor that protects 190-480VAC, 50/60Hz motors regardless of size. Has user adjustable 1-30 second trip delay, manual or 1-500 second restart delay, and 2-8% voltage unbalance trip point. The product also provides a user selectable nominal voltage setpoint and the voltage monitor automatically selects between the 200V and 400V range. The Model 201A-AU includes advanced single LED diagnostics, where five different light patterns distinguish between faults and normal conditions. This unique microcontroller-based voltage and phase-sensing device constantly monitors the 3-phase voltages to detect harmful power line conditions. When a harmful condition is detected, the 201A-AU's output relay is deactivated after a specified trip delay. The output relay reactivates after power line conditions return to acceptable levels.
