Overview

The Macromatic COH05A2AC is an Overcurrent Only relay designed for industrial applications. This unit monitors AC current and triggers a fault condition when the monitored current exceeds the Fault Trip Current setting and remains above the Reset level for a specified time delay. Upon detecting a fault, the internal LED illuminates immediately, and the relay energizes after the adjustable time delay on pick-up (t) is completed. The relay de-energizes and the LED turns off when the monitored AC current drops below the Reset level. This relay is ideal for applications requiring precise overcurrent detection and control. SKU: COH05A2AC. Manufacturer: Macromatic. Country of Origin: US.
  • Monitors AC current for overcurrent conditions
  • Adjustable time delay on pick-up (t)
  • Immediate LED fault indication
  • Relay energizes after time delay
  • De-energizes when current drops below reset level

How to Install the COH05A2AC Overcurrent Sensing Relay

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the COH05A2AC Overcurrent Sensing Relay, ensuring proper operation and safety.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, 0.25" male quick-connect terminals

  1. Mount the relay

Secure the COH05A2AC relay in a suitable enclosure using two #6 screws. Ensure it is mounted securely and is level.

  2. Set the Fault Trip Current

Adjust the Fault Trip Current setting (I) to the desired level where the relay should energize, indicating a fault condition. Refer to the specifications for maximum allowable current.

  3. Connect the current-carrying wire

Pass the current-carrying wire to be monitored through the current sensor of the relay. Ensure all connections are made using 0.25" male quick-connect terminals as per the wiring diagram.

  4. Set the time delay

Adjust the time delay on pick-up (t) to a value that prevents nuisance tripping while providing adequate overcurrent protection.

  5. Verify connections

Use a multimeter to verify all electrical connections are secure and correct according to the wiring diagram. Ensure power is removed before making any adjustments.
