Littelfuse SE-330-02-01 - NGR MONITOR PROFIBUS NC-K4. The SE-330 is an advanced ground-fault and neutral-grounding resistor monitoring relay. It measures neutral current, neutral-to ground voltage, and neutral-to-ground resistance. It provides continuous monitoring of the neutral-to-ground path to verify that the neutral-grounding resistor (NGR) is intact. This is of utmost importance—an open NGR renders current-sensing ground-fault protection inoperative and could result in a false belief that the system is functioning properly. The SE-330 can be used with low- and medium-voltage transformers and generators with low- or high-resistance grounding used in processing, manufacturing, chemical, pulp and paper, petroleum, and water-treatment facilities. For high-voltage applications, use the SE-330HV. For applications that require conformance to Australian standard AS/NZS 2081.3:2002, see the SE-330AU. The SE-330 New Revision provides these additional features: 100 trip records with date and time stamp. A mini-USB interface to view measured values, configure settings and check event records using SE-MON330 v3.2 or later. An on-board microSD card (included) can be used for long term data logging and firmware upgrades. Ground-fault trip level is adjustable from 2 to 100percent in 10 discrete settings, and in 1percent increments when using the MEM setting and SE-MON330 v3.2 or later. Dual Ethernet ports are optionally available with support for fiber and RJ45 interfaces. IEC 61850 protocol is optionally available. COMPUTER TO RELAY CONNECTION: Connect the SE-330 to the network using astandard Ethernet patch cable. Use of a crossover cable to connect the SE-330 directly to the computer running IP-Config is not recommended. A typical router will assign an IP address to all connected computers that are using DHCP. The SE-330 does not support the use of DHCP. If the SE-330 is being set-up for first time, it is recommended to only have one SE-330 connected to the network to prevent communication errors.

Overview

The Littelfuse SE-330-02-01 NGR Monitor Profibus NC-K4 is an advanced ground-fault and neutral-grounding resistor (NGR) monitoring relay designed for low- and medium-voltage systems. This unit continuously measures neutral current, neutral-to-ground voltage, and neutral-to-ground resistance, providing critical verification of the NGR's integrity. An open NGR can render current-sensing ground-fault protection inoperative, creating a significant safety hazard and the false belief that the system is functioning correctly. The SE-330 detects NGR failures within seconds, mitigating transient overvoltage risks and preventing ground-fault detection failure. It is compliant with Rule 10-302 of the 2018 Canadian Electrical Code Part I (CE Code). The relay offers selectable contact operating modes, enabling fail-safe or non-fail-safe operation for connection to shunt or undervoltage breaker coils or alarm systems. It provides a Form A output contact. The SE-330 is suitable for use in processing, manufacturing, chemical, pulp and paper, petroleum, and water-treatment facilities. Specifications include IEEE Device Numbers for Ground Fault (50G/N, 51G/N), Overvoltage (59N), Lockout Relay (86), and Checking Relay (3). Input voltage is specified in the ordering information (e.g., 120 Vac, 120 Vac/Vdc, 240 Vac for the SE-325 series, with the SE-330 offering 120/240V AC/DC or 48V DC power options). RF Trip-Level Settings range from 20-400 Vac for systems up to 5 kV and 100-2,000 Vac for systems over 5 kV. The unit features a standard reset button and is conformally coated. Mounting is surface mount. Required accessories include the CT200 Series Current Transformer and ER Series Sensing Resistor.
  • Continuously monitors neutral current, neutral-to-ground voltage, and neutral-to-ground resistance.
  • Detects NGR failure within seconds, reducing transient overvoltage risk and ground-fault detection failure.
  • Selectable fail-safe or non-fail-safe contact operating modes.
  • Dual Ethernet ports (optional fiber/RJ45), IEC 61850 support, and multiple communication protocols
  • Compliant with Canadian Electrical Code Rule 10-302; CSA, UL, CE, RCM certified
  • Detects ground-fault currents as low as 100mA with DFT filtering for noise immunity
  • Supports pulsing ground-fault location for fast fault identification without load interruption
