Overview

The Hammond Power SH3T0750PB3S is a 750 kVA, three-phase, energy-efficient harmonic mitigating transformer designed to address harmonics generated by non-linear loads such as variable frequency drives, UPS systems, and other power electronics. This unit features aluminum windings and is compliant with DOE 2016 and NRCan 2019 energy efficiency standards, ensuring reduced energy consumption and operational costs. Primary-to-secondary phase shift options include -30° or 0° for single-output units, enabling upstream cancellation of 5th and 7th harmonics. For dual-output configurations, phase shifts of 0° & -30° or -15° & -45° provide upstream cancellation of 11th and 13th harmonics, reducing voltage distortion and current imbalance. The transformer operates at 600V D PV primary and 208Y/120V SV secondary, delivering clean power to sensitive equipment. Key specifications include an insulation class of 220°C, temperature rise options of 150°C, 130°C, 115°C, or 80°C, and secondary neutral connections rated at 200% of the rated secondary phase current. Core construction utilizes high-grade, non-aging silicon steel laminations, while coil conductors are continuous aluminum windings with brazed, welded, or bolted terminations. Vacuum pressure impregnation ensures durability and reliability in industrial environments. In-rush currents are limited to 15x RMS, protecting connected equipment from transient surges. Taps are available per NEMA ST 20, including 2x ±5%, 4x ±2.5%, or 2x +2.5%/4x -2.5%, providing flexibility for voltage adjustment. The shielded design enhances performance by reducing electromagnetic interference, making it ideal for applications requiring stable power quality, such as data centers, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing plants. This transformer is engineered for high-efficiency power distribution, mitigating harmonic distortion to extend the lifespan of downstream equipment and improve system reliability.
  • Typical applications of HPS harmonic mitigating transformers include data centers, internet-service providers, telecom sites, call centers, broadcast centers, etc.
  • Superior to K-rated and conventional transformers in reducing voltage distortion and power losses due to current harmonics created by single-phase, non-linear loads.
  • Combining zero sequence flux cancellation with phase shifting treats 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 15th, 17th and 19th, harmonics within its secondary windings.
  • Insulation class 220°C, temperature rise options from 80°C to 150°C
  • Secondary neutral connections rated at 200% of phase current
  • Vacuum pressure impregnation for durability and reliability
  • In-rush current limited to 15x RMS for equipment protection
  • NEMA ST 20 taps available (2x ±5%, 4x ±2.5%, or 2x +2.5%/4x -2.5%)
  • Shielded design reduces electromagnetic interference
