How to Install the Encapsulated Transformer

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely installing and configuring a single-phase encapsulated transformer.

  1. Select the installation location

    Choose a non-combustible surface that allows for adequate air circulation around the transformer. Ensure the area is clean and dry.

  2. Mount the transformer

    Using the provided mounting template, drill the top two mounting holes. Lift the transformer into position and secure it with the top mounting bolts. Level the transformer and mark the lower mounting holes, then install the lower mounting bolts with lock washers, flat washers, and rubber washers.

  3. Make electrical connections

    Loosen the wiring compartment cover screw and connect the cables to the transformer terminals according to the nameplate diagram. Ensure all connections are clean and apply electrical joint compound as needed.

  4. Ground the transformer

    Connect the main ground wire to the designated ground location on the transformer. Ensure the ground connection complies with local electrical codes.

  5. Verify connections and insulation

    Before energizing the transformer, use a multimeter to check the insulation resistance between the windings and ground. Ensure it is greater than 10MΩ.

  6. Energize the transformer
