Overview

The Hammond Power PH75QR is a 75VA machine tool rated industrial control transformer from the HPS Imperator™ series. It features a dual primary voltage of 240V or 480V and a dual secondary voltage of 12V or 24V, operating at 50/60 Hertz. This encapsulated transformer is constructed with high-quality silicon steel laminations for optimal performance and reliability. The coils are encased in a custom injection molded cover, providing protection against moisture, dirt, and airborne contaminants common in industrial settings. Designed for applications with high inrush currents, such as those involving relays, solenoids, and magnetic motor starters, the PH75QR ensures dependable power for control circuits. It includes standard SEMS washers and secondary fuse kits utilizing 13/32” x 1 1/2” midget/type CC fuse clips. Mounting feet are made of heavy steel for a compact and strong design. The terminations accommodate 18 AWG to 14 AWG solid or 14 AWG stranded wire. This transformer is UL Listed (File: E50394) and CSA Certified (File: LR3902), with a 130°C insulation class and a 55°C temperature rise. Optional primary fuse kits and finger-safe terminal covers are available. The PH75QR is manufactured in the USA.

How to Install the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the HPS Imperator® control transformer, including mounting, wiring, and configuration.

  1. Mount the transformer

    Using a torque wrench, tighten all terminal screws to a torque setting between 12 to 14 inch-lbs to ensure secure connections.
