How to Install the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer, including the installation of optional accessories.

Mounting screws, Fuse clips, Voltage links, Finger guard (optional)

  1. Mount the transformer

    Secure the transformer to the mounting surface using appropriately sized mounting screws. Ensure the transformer is level and firmly attached.

  2. Install fuse clips

    Remove the appropriate captive washer screw(s) from the terminal block and install the fuse clip(s) using the new terminal screw(s) provided in the accessory kit.

  3. Connect voltage links

    For transformers from 50VA to 100VA, install the voltage links between any two primary or secondary terminal bays as per the wiring instructions. For larger transformers, follow the specific installation instructions provided in the PHWD1 or PHWD2 instruction sheet.

  4. Verify connections

    Use a multimeter to check all connections for continuity and ensure that all terminal screws are torqued between 12 to 14 inch-lbs.

  5. Install optional finger guard
