How to Install the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the HPS Imperator® Control Transformer, including the setup of optional accessories.

Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Fuse clips, Voltage links, Finger guard
- Mount the transformer
Secure the HPS Imperator® transformer to the mounting surface using appropriately sized mounting screws. Ensure the transformer is level and stable.
- Install fuse clips
Remove the captive washer screws from the terminal block and install the fuse clips using the new terminal screws provided in the accessory kit. Ensure all screws are torqued to 12 to 14 inch-lbs.
- Connect voltage links
Install the voltage links between the primary or secondary terminal bays as indicated in the instruction sheet included with your transformer. Ensure connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Attach finger guard
If using a finger guard, attach it to the transformer following the provided assembly drawing. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent accidental contact with live components.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to check all connections for continuity and proper voltage levels. Ensure that all wiring complies with the recommended wire size of 18 AWG to 14 AWG for solid wire.
