How to Install the PS250 Power Supply
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the PS250 Power Supply for use in a SelecTone system.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Short yellow jumper wire
- Mount the power supply
Use the power supply enclosure as a template to mark the location of the three mounting holes on the wall. Secure the power supply to the wall using #10 mounting screws, ensuring it is level and firmly attached.
- Connect the AC power
Terminate the conduit for the 120 VAC or 240 VAC power at one of the two knockouts located at the upper right side of the cabinet. Ensure that AC power is OFF before making connections.
- Install the batteries
Place the two 12V batteries in the bottom of the power supply cabinet. Connect the short yellow jumper wire between the positive terminal of the first battery and the negative terminal of the second battery. Then connect the battery wires to the terminal block labeled '-BAT+'.
- Connect the DC output
Connect the 12 VDC or 24 VDC output circuits to the two position terminal block labeled '-DC+'. Ensure correct polarity is observed during this connection.
- Set the desired voltage
Adjust the DIP switches according to the desired output voltage: set switches 1 and 2 ON for 12 VDC and OFF for 24 VDC.
- Verify power indicators
Turn on the AC power and check that the green LED (AC power) and red LED (DC power) illuminate. This indicates that the power supply is functioning correctly.
