How to Install the Informer15 Speaker (Model IS-I-IP15)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Informer15 Speaker for effective audible and visual alerts.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Ethernet cable (for PoE model), 24 Vdc power supply (for 24 Vdc model)
- Select and Prepare Mounting Location
Choose a flat surface for mounting the Informer15 Speaker. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions that could block sound output and that the projector is pointed horizontally or slightly downward.
- Mount the Speaker
Secure the speaker to the mounting surface using the provided mounting holes. Use #10 screws for wooden surfaces or drill 13/64-inch holes for metal surfaces, securing with screws, lock washers, and nuts.
- Open the Housing
Loosen the two cover screws on the speaker housing and carefully remove the visual indicator cable to access the internal components.
- Connect Power and Network Wiring
For the PoE model, connect the Ethernet cable to the J1 port on the PoE board. For the 24 Vdc model, connect the 24 Vdc power input to JP2 on the power board. Ensure all connections comply with local electrical codes.
- Wire the Controller Board
Connect the tone and message inputs via JP13 using a microSD card. For local activation, connect inputs to JP2. Ensure the visual indicator is wired to JP3.
- Close the Housing
Reattach the housing cover and secure it with the screws. Ensure all cables are properly routed and not pinched.
- Test the Installation
Power on the speaker and conduct a test to confirm that it operates correctly. Check all inputs and outputs to ensure functionality.
