What does the IP69K rating signify?
IP69K is the highest Ingress Protection rating, designed for products exposed to high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. It ensures protection against dust and powerful water jets.
Where are IP69K products ideally used?
IP69K products are ideal for applications requiring sanitation and cleanliness, such as food and beverage, wastewater, pharmaceutical, marine, and medical facilities.
How are IP69K products tested for durability?
Products are dust-tight tested for five hours. Water spray testing uses 1160–1450 psi at 176°F (80°C), sprayed from 4 angles and 4–6 inches away.
What certifications do Federal Signal products have?
Federal Signal products meet or exceed UL, CSA, CSFM, IECEx, and other global certifications. The company also holds ISO 9001 Certification.
What is the difference between IP69K and NEMA Type 4?
IP69K offers dust-tight protection from close-range, powerful, high-temperature water jets. NEMA Type 4 provides dust-tight protection from high-volume, low-pressure water from longer distances.
What applications do Federal Signal IP69K products cover?
Federal Signal offers over 700 models of IP69K products for safe area, hazardous, and explosion-proof applications, meeting various environmental ratings.
What are the benefits of using IP69K products?
IP69K products reduce failures from water/dust ingress, which increases productivity and decreases production downtime in harsh environments.
How to Install the FSEX Strobe Light
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the FSEX strobe light in hazardous locations.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Lubrication grease
- Mount the strobe light
Ensure that the mating threads are clean. Thread the pendant mount onto the 3/4" pipe and secure it with the set screw.
- Connect the wiring
Connect the incoming (+) positive side of the power source to the terminal marked 'L+' and the outgoing (+) positive power source to the terminal marked 'B'. Connect the incoming (–) negative side of the power source to the terminal marked 'N–' and the outgoing (–) negative side to the terminal marked 'A'. If required, connect the earth ground wire to the green screw in the pendant mount.
- Secure the strobe light
Thread the fixture clockwise into the pendant mount and tighten it securely. Ensure that all threaded joints are properly tightened after installation.
- Test the system
After installation, do not connect the light to the system while power is on. Once everything is connected, turn on the power and test the light system to ensure it is operating properly.
