How to Install the ASHP-024 Speaker

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the ASHP-024 speaker in a fire alarm system.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Conduit plugs

  1. Mount the speaker

Select a flat surface for mounting. Secure the speaker using #10 x 1" wood screws for wooden surfaces or #10 screws with lockwashers and nuts for metal surfaces. Ensure the speaker projector is pointed horizontally or slightly downward.

  2. Make electrical connections

Use 12 to 18 AWG wire to connect the power source. Strip no more than 0.25 inch of insulation from the wire ends. Connect the positive lead to one of the (+) terminals and the negative lead to one of the (–) terminals on the connector plug. Plug the connector into the receptacle on the printed circuit board.

  3. Install the tone card

Plug the desired tone card into the socket provided in the speaker housing. Ensure the neoprene rubber cover gasket is properly seated to maintain a seal, then reinstall the housing cover.

  4. Test the speaker

After installation, test the speaker to ensure it operates correctly. Adjust the internal volume control if necessary using a slotted screwdriver. Reinstall the housing cover securely.
