The IP69K rating ensures protection from close-range, powerful, high-temperature water jets and permits no ingress of dust. It is designed for high-pressure and high-temperature washdowns.

IP69K provides protection from close-range, powerful, high-temperature water jets and is dust-tight, while NEMA Type 4 protects from high-volume, low-pressure water.

IP69K testing includes dust-tight testing in an Arizona A2 Dust chamber and high-pressure steam jet cleaning with water sprays of 1160–1450 psi at 176°F (80°C).

During IP69K testing, water is sprayed from four different angles, at a distance of 4–6 inches, and temperatures of 176°F (80°C).

IP69K products are dust-tight tested in an Arizona A2 Dust 2kg/m³ chamber for 6 seconds at a time, every 15 minutes for five hours.
