Overview

VLT® Compact Starter MCD 202 A compact soft starter for direct panel mounting. It ramps the voltage applied to the motor during start, limiting inrush current and the mechanical shock passed into belts, couplings, gearboxes and pump columns, then runs the motor across the line once it is up to speed. The 202 adds motor protection over the 201. This unit is rated 110 kW at 400 V, frame 3. It is supplied for a 200-440 V mains, so one unit covers the usual utilization voltages in that band rather than requiring a voltage-specific part. The control supply is separate from the motor circuit and accepts 110-240 V or 380-440 V, so it can be fed from an existing control transformer without adding one. The 202 variant includes motor protection, so overload and phase-loss protection are built in rather than added as a separate relay. Danfoss drives are configured rather than stocked as fixed catalogue items: the type code MCD202110T4CV3 identifies this exact build, and 175G5219 is the quick order number Danfoss issues for it. Other valid configurations can be built to order.
