Overview

The ABB XD3-G PVC Coated Expansion/Deflection Coupling is a robust, corrosion-resistant solution for industrial piping and conduit systems requiring movement accommodation. Engineered for durability, this coupling features a 1-inch NPT threaded ductile cast iron hub with zinc-plated and acrylic-painted finish, ensuring superior corrosion resistance for wet and harsh environments. The coupling includes a stainless steel inner sleeve for smooth wire pulling and protection against insulation damage, while a flexible neoprene outer jacket provides watertight performance with tamper-proof stainless steel straps. Certified to UL 514B and CSA C22.2 No. 18.3, it meets NEC Article 250.98 and 300.4(A) compliance for wet locations. The XD3-G accommodates up to ¾" axial contraction, ¾" parallel deflection, and 30° angular deflection from the relaxed position, making it ideal for applications subject to thermal expansion, structural movement, or seismic activity. Suitable for indoor, outdoor, direct burial, or concrete-embedded installations, this coupling is distributed by Gross Automation and is part of ABB’s Ocal® corrosion-resistant conduit systems. The gray PVC coating adds an extra layer of protection, while the internal copper braid grounding bonding jumper and copper ground mounting plates ensure electrical safety and theft deterrence. With an Erickson® type 3-piece coupling design, installation is faster and labor costs are reduced compared to traditional methods.
