Overview

The ABB XD10NM is a 4-inch non-metallic expansion/deflection coupling designed for industrial piping systems requiring movement compensation. Constructed from smooth gray Schedule 40/80 PVC for its coupling ends and inner sleeve, it ensures a constant, smooth inner diameter that facilitates wire pulling and prevents insulation damage. The outer jacket is made of natural black molded neoprene, providing a flexible and watertight connection. Tamperproof stainless steel jacket straps ensure superior protection and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for harsh environments, including indoor, outdoor, direct burial, or embedded in concrete applications. This coupling meets the requirements of the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 300.4(H) for use where raceways cross structural joints intended for expansion, contraction, or deflection. It accommodates axial expansion from the relaxed position up to 0.75 inches and axial contraction from the relaxed position up to 0.75 inches. Parallel deflection is also supported, along with angular deflection of up to 30° from the relaxed position. Installation is up to five times faster than traditional methods, and it offers a 5-to-1 SKU reduction. Key specifications include a trade size of 4 inches, Dimension A of 12.25 inches, and Dimension B of 7.17 inches. The XD10NM is cULus Listed and CSA certified to CSA C22.2 No. 85.
