Overview

It accommodates a main conductor range of 477–556 kcmil ACSR with 18/1–4/0 stranding and a tap conductor range of 2/0–6 AWG ACSR (2/0–6 stranding) or 3/0–6 AWG solid. The connector uses a single N.2 die for compression, ensuring consistent joint integrity across the full conductor size range. Typical applications include utility pole transitions, service drops, and branch circuit connections in overhead power distribution networks. The H-type design provides mechanical stability while maintaining electrical continuity, reducing the risk of hot spots or loose connections. The connector measures 3 inches in length with a main conductor diameter range of 0.814 inches (max) and 0.502 inches (min), and a tap conductor diameter range of 0.814 inches (max) and 0.520 inches (min). It is compatible with Blackburn JB12A, JB12B, 12A, and Y-35 hydraulic tools, requiring 12-ton or greater capacity. The WR815 uses two indents for compression, distinguishing it from other models that use three indents. This design ensures reliable performance in high-stress environments, including those with temperature fluctuations and mechanical vibrations. The aluminum construction provides corrosion resistance and long service life, making it ideal for outdoor and industrial applications.
