WR™ Wide-Range Aluminum Tap Connectors, including WR389, are made of 1350 aluminum alloy for high strength and conductivity.

WR389 connectors are compatible with combinations of aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-copper conductors.

WR389 connectors require six indents when installed with a mechanical tool.

All D die connectors, including WR389, use two indents when installed with a hydraulic tool.

For standard conductors, the WR389 main conductor range is ACSR 4/0, 3/0 and STR 4/0, 3/0.

For standard conductors, the WR389 tap conductor range is ACSR 2/0, 1/0 and STR 3/0, 2/0.

The expanded conductor range for WR389† is only possible when the connector is crimped with a hydraulic tool.

The maximum tap conductor diameter for WR389 is 0.470 inches, and the minimum is 0.376 inches.

The maximum main conductor diameter for WR389 is 0.563 inches, and the minimum is 0.461 inches.
