Overview

The ABB WR1010 is a wide-range H-type compression connector engineered for reliable aluminum conductor installations in overhead distribution systems, utility poles, and substations. This connector supports main conductor ranges from 1/0 to 4 AWG ACSR and stranded conductors from 2/0 to 4 AWG, with solid conductor compatibility from 1 to 2 AWG. The tap side accommodates identical conductor sizes, enabling versatile branch connections without additional inventory. Designed for utility-grade durability, the WR1010 uses die size 0, ensuring compatibility with standard compression tooling. The H-type design delivers mechanical strength and electrical continuity, minimizing loosening under vibration or thermal cycling. Compression installation creates a permanent, corrosion-resistant joint that meets ANSI C119.4 specifications and RUS acceptance criteria. The 1350 aluminum alloy construction resists oxidation while maintaining long-term conductivity. The ribbed design ensures excellent connector/conductor contact without distorting the conductor’s shape, while fold-in tabs provide positive tab interlock during installation. Prefilled with oxide inhibitor, the WR1010 reduces oxidation risks in the connection area. Ideal for aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-copper conductor combinations, this connector consolidates multiple conductor sizes into a single type, reducing inventory requirements and streamlining field operations.
  • Wide conductor range: Main 1/0-4 AWG ACSR, 2/0-4 AWG stranded, 1-2 AWG solid; Tap same sizes
  • Die size 0 compatibility with standard compression tooling
  • 1350 aluminum alloy for high strength and conductivity
  • Ribbed design ensures optimal contact without conductor distortion
  • Prefilled with oxide inhibitor to prevent oxidation in connection area
