This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling a WMG-PC7 wire mesh grip onto a cable or cord, ensuring proper strain relief and a secure connection.

Cord, WMG-PC7 Wire mesh grip, Compression gland nut, Bushing, Connector body
- Prepare the Cord and Connector Body
Cut the end of the cord square. If the connector body has an original retaining ring, disassemble and remove it. For cords at the maximum diameter for the WMG-PC7, preform the wire mesh grip by carefully forming each loop round using flat nose pliers (refer to Figure 3 in the documentation).
- Load Components onto the Cord
Slide the compression gland nut onto the cord. Compress the wire mesh grip and slide it onto the cord. Then, slide the bushing onto the cord.
- Install Connector Body and Insert Cord
Secure the connector body to the enclosure if it is a threaded hub application. For knockout applications, the assembly can be completed before installing to the enclosure. Insert the cord through the connector body to the desired working length for the conductors. Note: In some installations, the cord jacket may need to be stripped back to pass through the body.
- Position and Secure Components
Slide the bushing into the connector body. Slide the wire mesh grip along the cord until it lays flat against the bushing. Finally, slide the compression gland nut along the wire mesh grip and tighten it onto the connector body. Remove all slack from the wire mesh by smoothing it out along the cord to ensure proper strain relief.
