WMG-PC1 Wire Mesh Grip, Electrical Cord/Cable
- Prepare the Cord and Gland Nut
Cut the electrical cord square. Slide the compression gland nut onto the cord, ensuring it is oriented correctly for later tightening.
- Install the Wire Mesh Grip
Compress the wire mesh grip and slide it onto the cable. If installing on cords of maximum diameter, carefully preform the wire mesh loops using flat nose pliers to flatten them as shown in Figure 3 of the documentation.
- Position the Bushing
Slide the bushing onto the cord, positioning it immediately after the wire mesh grip.
- Secure the Connector Body
Secure the connector body to the enclosure if you are using a threaded hub application. For knockout applications, the entire assembly can be completed before installing it to the enclosure.
- Insert Cord Through Body
Insert the cord through the connector body to achieve the desired working length for the conductors. Note that in some installations, the cord jacket may need to be stripped back to allow it to pass through the body.
- Assemble Bushing and Mesh
Slide the bushing into the connector body. Then, slide the wire mesh grip along the cord until it lays flat against the bushing.
- Tighten the Gland Nut
Slide the compression gland nut along the wire mesh grip and tighten it securely onto the connector body. Remove all slack from the mesh by smoothing it out along the cord.
