Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
17mm Hand Wrench, 90º Metric Hex Keys, Hoisting equipment
Supplies needed:
Mounting bolts (4)
- Prepare for Installation and Move the Press
IMPORTANT: Read and understand all instructions and safety information in the manual before operating. Before moving the Electric Press, verify the Power Switch is in the OFF position, the Press Guard is Closed, and the Ram path is free of obstruction. Move the ram into the Top Dead Center (TDC) position using the supplied 17mm Hand Wrench. CAUTION: The Electric Press weighs 75 kg (165 lbs); use caution when moving or lifting. Hoist the Electric Press onto a suitable workstation using the Eye Bolt provided. Ensure the workstation can support a 75 kg load and has 1m (3.28 ft) free space around the press.
- Secure the Electric Press and Install Foot Pedal
Securely bolt the Electric Press to the applicable workstation using four mounting bolts (not supplied). Ensure the press is stable and level. Install the Foot Pedal Safety Switch. If the Electric Press is intended for automated operation, the Foot Pedal is not needed.
- Connect the Power Source and Perform Initial Test
WARNING: Always disconnect power and de-energize the unit while performing maintenance or tooling changes. Ensure the Power Switch is in the OFF position. Plug the 110V Power Cord (provided) into an outlet with the appropriate power supply (1P / 110V @ 60 Hz, 110V to 120V fluctuation). Ensure the Electric Press is free from obstructions and hands are clear of any moving parts. Turn the Power Switch ON. Verify the Display Screen reads correctly. Using the Safety Foot Switch, cycle the press one time to ensure proper function.
- Install the Electric Die Assembly
Turn the Power Switch OFF. Loosen the Safety Guard Thumbscrew and open the Safety Guard by sliding it up. If applicable, loosen the Crimp Applicator Thumbscrew and remove any existing applicator. Insert the Thomas & Betts® Electric Die Assembly or Crimp Applicator into the Press' Adapter Plate and Ram. Tighten the Crimp Applicator Thumbscrew. Close the Safety Guard by sliding it down over the Electric Die Assembly. Tighten the Safety Guard Thumbscrew.
