Overview

The ABB MVI1-CM Control Module (SKU: MVI1-CM) is a factory-assembled unit designed for single-phase molded vacuum interrupters. It integrates a current transformer (CT) with a logic board, providing precise current sensing and control logic for vacuum interrupter operation. The module includes a CT hose clamp with a 301 stainless steel worm-drive clamp (3.5–5.5 inch range, 9/16 or 1/2 inch band width), ensuring secure attachment to vacuum interrupter bushings. Additional components include a 4-pin female receptacle for power input, a 5-pin micro female receptacle for control signals, an LED indicator light for operational status, and a cap and chain assembly for cable management. The logic PC board and diode PC board are encapsulated with epoxy potting compound and protected by Humiseal coating for environmental resistance. Thread-forming screws and a 1/2 NPT locknut provide secure mounting. The module is compatible with ABB’s molded vacuum interrupter assemblies, offering a compact, pre-engineered solution for medium-voltage switchgear applications.
