Overview

The ABB LT50M is a 1/2 inch steel liquidtight bullet connector designed for terminating liquidtight non-metallic conduit (UL Type B) or non-metallic tubing to enclosures, boxes, or threaded hubs. Engineered for industrial environments, this connector features a rugged low-profile thermoplastic body and gland with a captive sealing O-ring for reliable watertight performance. The steel ferrule accommodates conduit inside diameter variations and tolerates field cuts, while the elongated gland nut provides strain relief for 90° pulls and easy hand grip. The double sealing action resists ingress of liquids, dust, and contaminants, meeting Type 4 and Type 6 enclosure watertight requirements. Certified for performance in food processing, marine, and tropical industrial settings, the LT50M withstands exposure to detergents, cleaners, cutting fluids, and wiring pulling compounds. With a temperature range of -18°C to +105°C (-2°F to +221°F) and chemical resistance per ABB publication TDS000081, this connector is ideal for demanding applications where moisture resistance and durability are critical. The black thermoplastic body and blue nitrile O-ring ensure long-term reliability in harsh conditions.
  • 1/2 inch trade size for standard conduit systems
  • Steel ferrule with captive nitrile O-ring for double sealing action
  • Thermoplastic body rated -18°C to +105°C (-2°F to +221°F)
  • Elongated gland nut for strain relief and easy installation
  • Resistant to detergents, cleaners, cutting fluids, and marine environments

How to Assemble Liquid-Tight Conduit and Flexible Tubing

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the proper assembly of Type B NM Liquid-Tight Conduit and XTRA FLEX® Flexible Tubing with a fitting, ensuring a secure and liquid-tight connection.

Estimated time: 10m

Tools needed:

Conduit cutter, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Type B NM Liquid-Tight Conduit, XTRA FLEX Flexible Tubing, Liquid-tight fitting, 5262 Series Sealing Ring (for wet locations)

  1. Cut Conduit

Cut the conduit clean and square to ensure a proper and secure fit within the fitting.

  2. Insert Conduit into Fitting

Insert the cut end of the conduit through the gland-nut opening of the fitting. Push the conduit firmly to the bottom of the fitting, applying a slight twisting motion to ensure it seats correctly and completely.

  3. Secure Gland Nut

Tighten the gland-nut until it is firmly seated at the bottom, securing the conduit in place. NOTE: In wet locations, use the appropriate 5262 Series Sealing Ring between the box and fitting for knock-out applications to maintain a watertight seal.
