Overview

The ABB HM 52 (1/2 Pint) Oxide Inhibitor Joint Compound is specifically formulated for use with full tension splices, ensuring the integrity and longevity of electrical connections. This oxide inhibiting compound prevents the formation of oxides on splice surfaces, a common cause of increased electrical resistance, heat buildup, and eventual connection failure. By creating a protective barrier, the HM 52 effectively seals splice connections against atmospheric oxygen and moisture ingress, thereby maintaining low electrical resistance and enhancing splice reliability. Application is straightforward: thoroughly clean all conductors and conductor contact surfaces with a stainless steel wire brush, then apply a generous coating of the compound to all prepared surfaces. After installation, remove any excess compound. This product is intended exclusively for full tension splices. The HM 52 is supplied in a 1/2 pint (8 fluid ounce) container, providing a convenient quantity for moderate application needs. EPA TSCA Inventory List. For product information, call 800-816-7809.
