FTU connector, Inner heat shrink, Outer heat shrink
- Install FTU Connector
Install the FTU connector according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure proper connection before proceeding with the heat shrink application. WARNING: Danger of Electric Shock! Installation must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable local, state and national electrical codes, installation standards and safety rules.
- Position Heat Shrink Layers
Slide both the inner and outer layers of the heat shrink over the installed FTU connector, ensuring they are positioned correctly for the subsequent heating steps.
- Position Inner Heat Shrink
Slide the inner heat shrink component firmly against the bushing.
- Apply Heat to Inner Heat Shrink
Using a heat gun, carefully focus the heat source to the inner heat shrink near the bushing until it is fully installed and shrunk. CAUTION: Avoid overheating the bushing and heat shrink material during this process.
- Apply Heat to Outer Heat Shrink
Overlap the inner and outer heat shrink components by approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm). Apply heat to the outer heat shrink until sealant is visible around the entire perimeter, indicating a complete and secure seal.
