FG-DA-3/8 Stainless Steel Drain, Gasket, Drain Nut
- Locate Drainage Point
Identify the lowest point inside the metal junction box where drainage is desired. Ensure this location provides clearance from any enclosed wires or equipment.
- Prepare Mounting Hole
Drill a 3/8-inch diameter hole at the identified lowest point in the junction box. Carefully de-burr the edges of the hole to remove any sharp points. Additionally, remove any paint or non-metallic coating from the nut mounting surface around the hole to ensure the drain is properly bonded to the metal surface.
- Attach Gasket to Drain Body
Place the gasket onto the threaded portion of the drain body.
- Insert Drain Body
From the underside of the junction box, insert the drain body, with the gasket attached, into the 3/8-inch drilled hole. Ensure the gasket is flush against the underside of the junction box.
- Secure with Drain Nut
Thread the drain nut onto the drain body from inside the junction box. Ensure the teeth of the drain nut are pointed downwards, towards the bottom of the junction box, to facilitate proper drainage.
- Tighten the Drain Assembly
Hand tighten the drain body into the drain nut until the gasket makes initial contact with the underside of the junction box. Then, tighten the drain body an additional 2 to 2-1/2 turns to secure the assembly.
- Align for Optimal Drainage
For maximum drainage and efficient debris removal, align one of the slots in the drain nut with the vertical slot in the drain body.
