How to Install the Curved Lid J-Box E88C24
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Curved Lid J-Box E88C24 in concrete piers for effective wiring and circuit management.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Gasket, Duct tape
- Remove the lid
Detach the lid from the base of the J-Box as supplied.
- Drill holes for conduit fittings
Drill or punch holes in the base of the J-Box and attach conduit fittings in your desired locations.
- Install the gasket
Insert the gasket into the gasket groove in the lid. If the J-Box will be installed deeper than 3 feet, do not install the gasket until Step 5.
- Assemble the lid
Secure the lid to the base using the captive screws located in the four corners.
- Prepare for deeper installation
If the J-Box is to be installed deeper than 3 feet, drill holes from the inside of the gasket grooves at the four marked locations, then install the gasket and use four 3/4” sheet metal screws (not supplied) along with the captive screws to assemble the lid.
- Attach to the form
Using the four supplied sheet metal screws, attach the assembled lid and base to the form. Use duct tape around the perimeter of the lid to seal against the form.
- Orient the form
Before pouring concrete, orient the form so the exposed lid does not face parking lot traffic.
- Remove the lid after curing
After the concrete has completely cured, loosen or remove the four corner captive screws from the lid and pull it straight out.
- Complete wiring
Perform the desired wiring inside the J-Box.
- Reinstall the lid
Reinstall the lid to complete the installation. Optionally, replace captive screws with tamper-resistant screws.
