How to Install the Deck Grommet™ Pro
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Deck Grommet™ Pro on your deck, ensuring proper wiring and functionality.

Screwdriver, Jig saw, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Flexible cord connectors, Weatherproof outlet box, GFCI or standard duplex receptacle
- Prepare the deck for installation
Select the installation location for the Deck Grommet™ Pro, ensuring there are no obstructions underneath the deck. Use the supplied cut-out template to trace the cut-out shape onto the deck board.
- Cut the deck opening
Drill a 1/2" diameter starter hole along the traced line and use a jig saw to cut out the shape through the deck surface.
- Install the weatherproof outlet box
Attach the weatherproof outlet box to a floor joist adjacent to the Deck Grommet™ Pro location, ensuring it aligns with the center of the cut-out hole.
- Connect the flexible cord
Insert the unstripped end of the flexible cord into the weatherproof outlet box and connect the stripped conductors to the AC power supply according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Mount the Deck Grommet™ Pro
Place the Deck Grommet™ Pro into the cut-out opening and secure it using the attached swing clamps by tightening the screws until they contact the underside of the deck board.
- Test the installation
Turn on the electrical power to the circuit and test the GFCI protection according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Finalize the installation
Open the Deck Grommet™ Pro cover, insert the plug from the electrical cord into the receptacle, create a drip loop in the cord, and close the cover ensuring the latch snaps shut.
