How to Install the D65U Street Lighting Kit Inline Fuse/Disconnect
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the D65U Street Lighting Kit, including the inline fuse/disconnect, ensuring proper and safe setup. WARNING: Disconnect power before installation. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and identify LINE/LOAD sides.

Crimp tool, Wire strippers, Wood dowel
Supplies needed:
Load side (plug) housing, Line side (receptacle) housing, Fuse holder, Fuse (13/32" by 1 1/2", 600V 30A max, non-glass), Lubricant, Connecting link (SDK only)
- Prepare Load Side Housing
Measure the cable diameter. Refer to Table 1 in the documentation to select the corresponding section on the molded sleeve of the load side (plug) housing. Cut off the remaining sections of the housing to match the size referenced in the Range column for your cable's outside diameter.
- Prepare Load Side Cable
Thoroughly clean approximately 8 inches along the load side cable end. Apply lubricant and insert the cable through the small hole in the load side (plug) housing. Push the cable through a sufficient distance to permit 3/8 inch stripping of insulation. Strip 3/8 inch of insulation from the cable end.
- Crimp Load Side Cable to Fuse Holder
Insert the stripped load side cable into the crimp barrel of the fuse holder. Crimp the cable securely using the recommended tool and die as specified in Table 2 of the documentation.
- Secure Fuse Holder in Load Side Housing
Apply lubricant lightly to the outside of the fuse holder. Place the wood dowel into the fuse holder's socket and position the free end of the dowel against a firm surface. Push the load side (plug) housing forward until the fuse holder snaps into its locked position. Wipe off any excess lubricant.
- Prepare Line Side Housing and Cable
Repeat all the above steps (Steps 1 through 4) for the line side (receptacle) housing and cable. Ensure proper identification of the line side wiring and connector body before beginning this process.
- Install Fuse or Connecting Link
Insert a 13/32 inch by 1 1/2 inch fuse (600 Volt, 30 Amp maximum) or the connecting link (if using the SDK kit) into the plug (load side) housing. WARNING: DO NOT use a glass body fuse.
- Connect Housings
Connect the load side (plug) housing and the line side (receptacle) housing together, ensuring a secure connection.
