How to Install the CS12106 Enclosure
Instructions for mounting and installing conduit into the CS12106 enclosure.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Hole saw, Screwdriver, Pencil
Supplies needed:
Mounting feet (optional), Mounting screws, Conduit connector (hub), Connector locknut, Grounding bushing (for metallic conduit), Ground wire lug
- Prepare Conduit Holes
Determine the desired location for conduit entry. Use a paper template with the recommended dimensions (A x C for side installation, B x C for end installation) for your specific enclosure size. Position a hole saw within the template rectangle and carefully cut the hole, avoiding damage to the enclosure bosses. For side installations on hinge models, ensure conduit holes are at least 1 inch from the bottom of the hinge assembly. For C Series enclosures, center holes at least 1-1/2 inches from the bottom and 2-1/2 inches from the top.
- Install Conduit Connector (Hub)
For metallic conduit: Secure the conduit connector (hub) onto the conduit. Then, secure the hub into the prepared enclosure hole using the connector locknut. Attach a grounding bushing with the proper size ground wire lug over the connector locknut. For nonmetallic conduit: Secure the conduit to the hub, then secure the hub into the enclosure hole using the connector locknut. A grounding bushing is not required for nonmetallic conduit.
- Ground the Enclosure
Install the grounding conductor in accordance with National Electrical Code requirements. Ensure the enclosure is bonded between grounding bushings or between grounding bushings and the equipment grounding terminal, if provided.
- Mount the Enclosure
If using mounting feet (Part No. CJB 159), attach them to the enclosure using 1/4-20x1/2” flathead screws, torquing to a maximum of 50 in-lbs. If mounting vertically, use the integrated mounting brackets. Ensure the enclosure is securely tightened and positioned correctly.
- Secure the Cover
The cover fastenings are captive slotted stainless steel filister head screws (10-32). Tighten these screws to a maximum of 25 in-lbs to ensure the cover is securely closed.
