Overview

The ABB CHT50040-4 is a pressure cable connector designed for reliable copper H-tap connections. Constructed from high-conductivity copper alloy, this connector ensures excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance for long-term performance in industrial applications. It is suitable for Class B or C building wire copper (Cu) cable only. The CHT50040-4 accommodates a main conductor range of 500 to 250 kcmil (including 350-4/0 AWG Flex) and a branch conductor range of 500 to 4/0 kcmil (including 350-4/0 AWG Flex). This connector is ideal for making tap or parallel copper connections, providing consistent reliability with heavy-wall construction that prevents joint relaxation after installation. Installation requires the TBM15 tool with a 15612CH Brown Die. Ensure proper crimping with specified tools and dies for optimal performance and safety. Do not crimp on hot energized wires. This product is covered by a two-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from Thomas & Betts.
