Keebar Aluminum Transformer Connector, #6 - 500 kcmil, Aluminum and Copper, Stud 5/8 inch and 1 inch, Ten ConnectorHow to Install Non-Metallic NPT Cable Glands
A general guide for installing non-metallic NPT cable glands, focusing on safe practices and proper cable strain relief and sealing for applications like CC-NPT12S2-B.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Wrench, Drill, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Non-Metallic Cable Gland, Locknut (if required), Electrical Cable
- Disconnect Power
WARNING: Disconnect all power to the equipment before beginning installation to prevent the risk of electric shock. Ensure the power source is locked out or tagged out to prevent accidental re-energization.
- Prepare Mounting Hole
Ensure the mounting hole for the cable gland is correctly sized for the NPT thread (e.g., 1/2" NPT for CC-NPT-12-G variants). If necessary, drill a new hole or clean an existing one, ensuring no burrs or sharp edges remain.
- Install Cable Gland and Secure Cable
Insert the cable gland into the prepared mounting hole. If a locknut is required (e.g., LN-501 for 1/2" NPT glands), thread it onto the gland from the inside of the enclosure and tighten it securely. Insert the electrical cable through the gland and tighten the gland's cap to achieve proper strain relief and a secure, sealed connection around the cable.
