The ABB BT8-G is a 3-inch (78mm metric size designator) T-style Mogul Conduit Outlet Body, designed for industrial electrical installations requiring robust conductor management. Manufactured by ABB Installation Products, this unit is constructed from Class 30 Gray iron alloy, featuring a double-coat finish. The exterior is protected by a nominal 0.040" (40 mil) PVC coating, bonded to the surface, providing substantial corrosion resistance. Beneath the PVC, both the interior and exterior surfaces are coated with a nominal 0.002" (2 mil) blue urethane for enhanced protection. This double-coating system ensures long-lasting durability in demanding environments. The BT8-G serves as a critical junction point in conduit systems, acting as a pull outlet for conductors that are stiff due to large size or insulation type. Its long openings facilitate easier pulling of large conductors and prevent sharp bends or kinks, thus protecting insulation during installation. Furthermore, it provides ample space for splicing and tapping conductors, and offers access for maintenance and future system modifications. The conduit body features tapered tapped hubs with integral bushings to protect wire insulation. It ships complete with a cover and gasket, and utilizes stainless steel cover screws for secure closure. Compliant with UL Standard 514B, Fed. Spec.
