Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Caulk or sealant, Petroleum jelly

  1. Cut the hole in the raised panel

Cut a hole in the raised floor panel according to the dimensions specified for the AFM 6, which is 7-15/16" x 10".

  2. Install the AFH Bracket

Place the AFH Bracket in the center of the cutout opening and fold the legs around the edge to secure it tightly against the floor panel.

  3. Apply sealant and lower the AFM

Before lowering the AFM into the hole, apply caulk or sealant to the underside of the Carpet Flange to prevent water entry, then lower the AFM into the cut hole.

  4. Secure the AFM

Use 1-1/8" long screws to engage the bracket and secure the AFM in place.

  5. Condition the gaskets

At initial installation, apply a light coating of petroleum jelly to the gaskets on the Cord Door and Carpet Flange to keep them supple and prevent water entry.

  6. Install wiring and devices

Open the cover of the AFM, attach the necessary devices, and install all wiring in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes.

  7. Close the cover

Close the lid of the AFM, ensuring that the Cord Door is open to route any electrical or data cords out.
