Carlon ENT Mud Box Assembly, Rebar (optional)
- Attach Metal Strap to Mud Box
Align the key hole cutout in the metal strap with the corresponding feature on the back of the Carlon ENT Mud Box Assembly (sold separately). Ensure it is securely attached as shown in Figure 1 of the documentation.
- Install Spring Leg 1
Attach Spring leg 1 by installing it on top of the metal strap, ensuring proper alignment and seating as depicted in Figure 1 of the documentation.
- Install and Rotate Spring Leg 2
Attach Spring leg 2 to the mud box in the same manner as the metal strap. Then, rotate Spring leg 2 by 90 degrees, utilizing the sloped surfaces on the stops, until the strap rests securely between the stops as shown in Figure 2 of the documentation.
- Position Assembly in Concrete Forms
Compress the spring legs and fit the assembled mud box and bracket between the concrete forms. The optimal working range for the concrete forms is between 6 and 8 inches (Figure 3).
- Secure Mud Box to Rebar (Optional)
Position the mud box to the desired location. Secure the assembly by wrapping the metal strap around the rebar (Figure 4). This step is optional but recommended for best results. Ensure the mud box opening is against the inside surface of the opposite concrete form.
- Prepare Mud Box for Concrete
Prepare the mud box according to job site requirements and best industry practices to prevent concrete ingress during the pouring process.
- Complete Wall Construction
Finish the wall construction following best industry practices after the mud box and bracket assembly are securely in place.
