- Prepare for Installation
Turn off all power to the circuit to prevent electrical shock. Gather all necessary tools and supplies, including the conduit adapter and mounting screws.
- Disassemble the Connector
Remove the gland nut, seal, conduit adapter, liner, and interior from the connector housing. Use a screwdriver to carefully separate the interior from the housing.
- Install the Conduit Adapter
Insert the conduit adapter into the gland nut and thread it onto the liquid-tight conduit connector. Ensure it is torqued tightly to a minimum of 50 IN/LB.
- Wire the Connector
Slide the seal and liner over the supply wires, allowing 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches of wire to extend beyond the liner. Strip the wire ends and insert them into the appropriate contacts according to your established wiring pattern. Tighten the pressure screws to the specified torque.
- Reassemble the Connector
Reinsert the interior into the housing, ensuring the tabs align with the notches. Thread the gland nut onto the housing, tightening it to 40-80 IN/LB while ensuring only the gland nut turns.
- Perform Electrical Testing
Before connecting to power, use an ohmmeter to check continuity and verify correct phasing and grounding connections. Check insulation resistance to ensure there are no short circuits.
- Power On and Test the System
Once all checks are complete, connect the system to power and perform a final test to ensure proper operation.
