How to Install the 9C33U0/C50 DuraGard Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the 9C33U0/C50 DuraGard Connector for industrial applications.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Torque Wrench, Wire Strippers, Ohmmeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Conduit adapter, Seal, Liner

  1. Prepare the installation area

Turn off all power to the area where the connector will be installed to prevent electrical shock. Ensure that the installation area is clean and free of debris.

  2. Assemble the connector components

Disassemble the connector by removing the gland nut, seal, conduit adapter, liner, and interior. Thread the conduit adapter onto the liquid-tight conduit connector and torque it to 50 IN/LB minimum.

  3. Wire the connector

Slide the seal and liner over the supply wires. Strip the wires according to the specified lengths and insert them into the appropriate terminals. Tighten the pressure screws to the specified torque (20 IN/LB for 30 & 50 AMP, 25 IN/LB for 60 AMP).

  4. Reassemble the connector

Reassemble the interior into the housing, ensuring the liner is flush with the housing edge. Thread the gland nut onto the housing and tighten it to 40-80 IN/LB, ensuring only the gland nut turns.

  5. Perform electrical tests

Before connecting to power, use an ohmmeter to check continuity and verify correct phasing and grounding. Check insulation resistance to ensure there are no short circuits.

  6. Power on and test the system

Once all checks are complete, connect the power and test the system to ensure proper operation. Monitor for any irregularities.
