Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Torque Wrench, Screwdrivers, Wire Strippers, Ohmmeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Gasket, Terminal connectors
- Turn off power
Ensure that all power to the circuit is turned OFF to prevent electrical shock during installation.
- Mount the junction box
Securely mount junction box #1 in the desired location and pull the service supply cable into the box, leaving enough length to connect to the receptacle.
- Strip cable and prepare conductors
Strip the cable jacket 1 to 2 inches and strip the conductors 1/2 inch (for 30 & 50A) or 3/4 inch (for 60A) to prepare for connection.
- Insert conductors into receptacle
Loosen the pressure screws in the receptacle sleeves, insert the stripped ends of each conductor according to the established wiring pattern, and tighten the screws to the specified torque.
- Assemble the receptacle
Assemble the gasket and receptacle to junction box #1 using the provided screws, ensuring a secure fit.
- Perform electrical tests
Use an ohmmeter to check continuity and insulation resistance to verify correct phasing and grounding connections before powering on the system.
- Power on and test
Once all connections are verified, turn the power ON and test the system to ensure proper functionality.
