Overview

Engineered by ABB - Installation Products, this floor box combines a galvanized steel housing with a brass or nickel-plated cover for superior corrosion resistance and aesthetic integration with wood, ceramic tile, or carpeted floors. Designed for flush installation in finished floors, the 71W-GFCI occupies minimal space with a compact 3" length x 2" width x 3.5" depth footprint while delivering 18 cubic inches of internal volume for efficient wire management. The floor box features (2) 1/2" knockouts on each side, (1) 1/2" knockout and (2) cable knockouts with nonmetallic sheathed cable clamps at each end, plus (1) knockout on the bottom for flexible conduit routing. Supplied with a 12 AWG insulated copper grounding wire pigtail, the 71W-GFCI supports standard 3/8" minimum finished floor thickness. The P64 series cover, available in brass or nickel plating, ensures durable, low-profile integration with flooring materials. This floor box excels in both new construction and renovation projects where clean, low-profile electrical access is critical. The brass/nickel cover resists wear and blends seamlessly with flooring, while the tamper-resistant GFI receptacle enhances child safety without compromising usability.
