How to Install the 61102 Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 61102 connector, ensuring a secure and safe electrical connection.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, ALUMA-SHIELD® Aluminum Joint Compound, TY-RAP® cable tie

  1. Prepare the cable

Strip the cable insulation to the length specified in Table 1, taking care not to nick the cable strands.

  2. Insert the cable

Insert the stripped cable into the small hole end of the insulating cover and slide it until it is beyond the stripped cable area.

  3. Apply aluminum joint compound

Smear a thin layer of ALUMA-SHIELD® Aluminum Joint Compound on the cable and clean the cable surface with a wire brush or emery cloth.

  4. Crimp the connector

Remove the protective cap from the connector barrel and insert the cable until it stops. Use the correct die as per Table 1 to crimp the connector, starting near the tongue and working towards the end.

  5. Connect the lug

Connect the crimped lug to the equipment securely.

  6. Secure the insulating cover

Slide the insulating cover onto the lug until it stops and secure it with a TY-RAP® cable tie flush with the back end of the insulating cover.

  7. Verify the installation

Use a multimeter to check the connection for continuity and ensure there are no shorts.
